چکیده
We present the responses of a NaI(Tl) crystal in terms light yield and pulse shape characteristics nuclear recoil events at two different temperatures: 22 C (room temperature) -35 (low temperature). The is measured using 59.54 keV gamma-rays 241Am source relative to mean charge single photoelectrons. At low temperature, we measure 4.7 +/- 1.3% increase compared that room temperature. A significantly increased decay time also observed are neutrons from 252Cf those electron events. discrimination (PSD) power temperature found be improved entire energy range studied because scintillation characteristics. find an approximately 9% quenching factor alpha-induced events, which ratio alpha recoil, This supports possibility known have similar processes dark matter interaction. PSD enhance sensitivity for detection via matter-nuclei interactions.

متن کاملMeasurements of anisotropic scintillation efficiency for carbon recoils in a stilbene crystal for dark matter detection
It is known that scintillation efficiency of organic single crystals depends on the direction of nuclear recoils relative to crystallographic axes. This property could be applied to the directional WIMP dark matter detector. The scintillation efficiency of carbon recoils in a stilbene crystal was measured for recoil energies of 30 keV to 1 MeV using neutrons from Li(p,n)Be and Cf. Anisotropic r...
متن کاملSUSY COLD DARK MATTER DETECTION AT LARGE tanβ
We study the direct detection rate for SUSY cold dark m atter (CDM) predicted by the minimal supersymmetric standard model with universal boundary conditions and large values for tanβ. The relic abundance of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), assumed to be approximately a bino, is obtained by including its coannihilations with the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), which ...
متن کاملThe SuperCDMS proposal for dark matter detection
Presently the CDMS-II collaboration’s Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) search at the Soudan Underground Laboratory sets the most stringent exclusion limits of any WIMP cold dark matter direct-detection experiment. To extend our reach further, to WIMP-nucleon cross-sections in the range 10 46 10 44 cm, we propose SuperCDMS, which would take advantage of a very deep site. One promising ...
